Teaching the Legacy: K–12 Educator & Homeschooler Resources
The Hammonds House Museum’s K–12 Educator & Homeschooler Resource section provides standards-based curriculum guides inspired by our acclaimed Exhibition History. Each guide aligns with Georgia Standards of Excellence and links exhibitions—past and present—to classroom learning through art, history, and culture. Rooted in our mission to showcase African American and African Diaspora creativity, these resources feature concise artist biographies, historical context, interdisciplinary lesson plans, ready-to-print worksheets, and assessment tools for grades K–12. Strategies for accessibility, family engagement, and museum-based learning—such as curation and exhibition design—help educators foster curiosity, cultural literacy, and creative expression, making every visit to Hammonds House an inspiring educational experience.
